New Covenant Community Development Corporation is a Not for Profit 501 c(3) tax exempt corporation. Our headquarters are located in the Lawndale community, as this is the community that is our target community for economic redevelopment.
Our three sector development strategy includes individuals, families and businesses. It is our position that the business world changes constantly and has a substantive impact on communities. For companies to remain competitive, they need to be more nimble than ever. But identifying and creating organizational change is never easy. That's where our team of experts comes in.
We had the pleasure of celebrating entrepreneurship and small business owners this week at our Annual Game Changers Gala 2019. It was a fun filled evening. There were powerful stories depicting the journeys of our honorees. Sheila McNary, as our keynote speaker was awesome in taking us through her experiences as she built Advanced Care Services Inc. We certainly walked away believing the struggle is real but worth it. Cherice Taylor shared how she is now opening her own storefront for her business Make it Sew Fun. Dinitia Robinson explained how she went from custom designs to her own clothing line with her business Embrace Love Designs. Milton Riley demonstrated how with patience, perseverance and preparation you can do anything as he told us of his two businesses - Building 14 Construction and DMAC Trucking Logistics. We also presented our very own Dorine Poole with an award for representing how to "change the game" on the job.
New Covenant CDC was thrilled to have so many friends and supporters present. Thanks to Debra Wesley, who hosted us at Sinai. Commissioner Dennis Deer stopped by and inspired us with his comments.
And many thanks to "Big Keef" as he "brought the funny".
Thanks again to all who joined us and/or supported our efforts to train our clients for the next level.
