New Covenant Community Development Corporation is a Not for Profit 501 c(3) tax exempt corporation. Our headquarters are located in the Lawndale community, as this is the community that is our target community for economic redevelopment.
Our three sector development strategy includes individuals, families and businesses. It is our position that the business world changes constantly and has a substantive impact on communities. For companies to remain competitive, they need to be more nimble than ever. But identifying and creating organizational change is never easy. That's where our team of experts comes in.
Community Organizer & Volunteer Coordinator
Primarily responsible for the community residents, organizations and volunteers into the plan. The staff member will also lead implementation of the quality of life plan for the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council (NLCCC) community, serving as a project manager for focal projects, and supporting the outreach and volunteer strategy for the plan.
Minimum 2 years related work experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred and equivalent related experience in volunteer and project management; ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize and meet deadlines
Experience working with diverse groups and ability to maintain composure and enthusiasm when working with volunteers with a variety of personalities; Strong familiarity with the community area and demonstrated leadership in community affairs/relations in that community area
Basic knowledge of how to assess community needs through research and meeting with members of a community (one on ones)
